Good morning!
I am so sorry that I was unable to do Monday's card - I had a hectic weekend and yesterday was eventful too and I just didn't get time...
On Saturday Maisie was very poorly and ended up having an emergency trip to see the vet. It turned out that she had swallowed some pebbles on the beach and one managed to get stuck in her lower intestine, so she had to have an operation to remove it!
Daft dog! I know she's a labrador and they do tend to eat anything - but pebbles?!!
Thankfully she seems to be doing well and recovering quickly from her ordeal. Although, with her shaven belly, a shaved patch on her front leg - and her bald patches on her sides (she suffers from Seasonal Flank Alopecia) - she's not looking her best! Bless her :)
Sunday was Mother's Day (here in the UK) and we had to change our plans a bit, because of Maisie, so instead of going out for the afternoon with my Mum - and meeting up with my daughter Lucy and grandaughter Gabriella - we all gathered at Mum's instead (with Maisie) and enjoyed a lovely lunch and some delicious cakes!
Here we are - four generations!
Sadly I didn't get to see my 3 other children as they were all too far way, but we are having a big family gathering in April - for my Mum's 75th birthday - so I am really looking forward to that!
Yesterday winter came back with a vengeance and we had snow and gale force winds all day. BRRR!
Poor Richard got stuck in the traffic chaos, caused by the snow and ice, and it took him 8 hours to get home! He was one of the lucky ones... A lot of people were stuck in their cars all night long!
Unfortunately we don't seem to cope well with snowy conditions in the UK - just a few centimetres of snow causes chaos and most of the effected parts of the country comes to a complete standstill - it's ridiculous!
It's treacherous out there in many places today, with ice on the roads playing havoc with the morning rush hour and people not being able to get to work...
Luckily I work from home - but shall have to get to the post office again later!
Talking of which - I must get on with today's orders!
