Amethyst is a beautiful purple, or violet, quartz . It is a very spiritual stone and is a stone of peace.
When held in your receptive hand ( left hand if you are right handed and right if you are left handed ) an Amethyst's peaceful vibrations aid in soothing, de-stressing and calming - especially helpful after a stress-filled day. Or wear Amethyst next to your skin to keep you calm in stressful situations.
When placed beneath the pillow Amethyst is said to be able to ward off nightmares and insomnia. It aids peaceful sleep and pleasant dreams - which can sometimes be prophetic.
Amethyst inspires the healing of all organs and brings about mental peace and a state of relaxation.
Ancients thought it was a cure for drunkenness, perhaps because its name comes from the Greek word meaning 'not drunken'. Those who wore it thought they could drink as much as they liked without suffering from any ill effects!
It is also said to lose its brightness in the presence of poison and it pales if the wearer is ill.
Amethyst is a powerful amulet for travellers. When worn it protects against thieves, harm, danger and sickness. It gives courage to the wearer.
It is used in meditation, for guidance and help, it brings clear thoughts and a calm mind. Amethyst is also used to increase psychic awareness. Sometimes a piece of Amethyst is kept with Tarot cards, Rune stones or I Ching coins - to heighten their inner energies.
It is worn during divination as it is also a stone of wisdom and helps with the interpretation of the information coming through the psychic mind.
Amethyst is a stone of pure love, it is beautiful as well as spiritual and it has no negative side effects. It is, therefore, a 'must' for anyone's crystal collection!

The answer is simple: TURN ON THE LIGHT
Look to your life with the eyes of your Spirit, not your ego. The ego points out your flaws; your Spirit concentrates on your perfection. The ego sees everything as your failure; your Spirit sees it as process and progress. The ego views itself as separate and alone; the Spirit knows itself to be connected to all and an essential part of the whole. The ego see darkness; the Spirit sees light.
Right now you’re being asked to view your circumstances with the illumination of your Spirit. Don’t focus on the shadows, but rather on the light. Ask, “What is right with my life at this moment? What is working? What am I learning? What is in the process of improving?”
If you look with the light of your Spirit, you’ll clearly make out that all is well. Your ego can’t see past its own fears, so all appears dark. Your Spirit turns on the light and thus perceives the value of all your experiences - with it on, you can see that it’s all good.

The answer is simple: DECORATE - The Spirit is a sensitive light body and is influenced by the environment it finds itself in. The answer is simple: BE PATIENT. The physical Universe vibrates at a slower pace than the mental one does.
