Good morning!
Manic Monday is upon us already! (A cold, wet and windy Monday at that...)
Didn't the weekend just fly by?
My Mum had a lovely birthday on Friday and is now the proud owner of a brand new iphone - courtesy of my Dad. Is it just me, or do you think that was a great gift for a 74th birthday?! It may take a week or so for Mum to get used to it, but I'm sure she will love her iphone and wonder how she survived without it up until now! Teehee!
Friday evening we had a lovely impromptu fish 'n' chips birthday tea for Mum, with Dad, Richard, Tom, Sophie and me - and Maisie (who was very well-behaved). Cod and chips, icecream and baileys dessert and a few glasses of wine... and some chocolates too! I strayed right off my diet! It was worth it though and a very enjoyable evening for all of us.
Saturday and Sunday I was very good food-wise. We went food shopping and got lots of tasty (healthy and low fat) goodies, so I cooked us a nice 'syn-free' chinese meal on Saturday - egg fried rice and a stir fry - and Richard made us a gorgeous fresh fruit salad, with strawberries, grapes, pear and bananas...
On Sunday I made us a very delicious 'Slimming World Pizza', with garlic and rosemary potato wedges and salad. Yum, yum yum!
Who said dieting is boring and all you can eat is 'rabbit food'?!
We took Maisie out in the van yesterday, for a nice long walk. First we went on the Downs, near Beachy Head. She was loving running around up there but it was so windy we could hardly stand upright (and it was a very cold wind) so we got back in the van and head off to Friston Forest and Maisie was able to have a good sniff around the woods, were it was a little more sheltered and not quite so cold. It made a nice change from always walking on the beach and the shingle. She was a very happy doggy and was shattered when we got back!
So all-in-all I had both a productive and a relaxing weekend - thoroughly enjoyable! I hope you enjoyed your weekend too?
