Good morning!
Cold, wet and windy out there today - Maisie and I arrived home after our walk on the beach rather bedraggled, windswept and soggy - but a brisk rub down with a towel for Maisie, and a large steaming mug of coffee for me, soon sorted us out :)
I am feeling much happier and more optimistic after visiting my Dad in hospital last night!
He was in high spirits and joking about having been with the 'physio-terrorists', to the hospital gym, working on the parallel bars, being 'taught' how to walk again - which amused him as he recalled teaching police cadets how to march properly, 'back in the day' when he was a police officer.
He feels really frustrated at what he is unable to do yet, but was able to laugh at himself for trying to eat a banana but missing his mouth and almost sticking it in his ear! He has to work on his co-ordination... lol
He was very animated, telling his stories and gesticulating with his arms and hands - a very good sign, I thought!
He also told us that they should be removing the drain from his neck today, another good sign that the infection is under control...
I have high hopes that he will be home in time for Christmas, which would be a miracle and absolutely wonderful!
Talking of Christmas, I have lots of Bags of Christmas Blessings to make, so I'd better get on with today's cards and then start work!
